Getting started

  • Use Courses to keep your benchmark courses ready with tees, ratings, slope, par, length, and stroke index.
  • Use Game to start a benchmark round from a course and tee.
  • Use Settings to set your handicap, rating category, scorecard columns, and appearance.

Courses

  • A club can hold shared location and fallback coordinates.
  • Each course stores holes, par, and the tees you use for setup.
  • Each tee can hold Men’s and Ladies’ CR/Slope plus hole lengths and stroke indexes.

Rounds

  • Start a round from Game, choose course and tee, then enter scorecard values.
  • Submitted rounds keep the handicap and tee context from the time they were played.
  • Round reports can be previewed and shared when you want to review a benchmark round.

Performance

  • The Performance tab compares recent benchmark rounds against the selected target profile.
  • Use the averaging selector to switch between last round and longer windows.
  • The category chart shows where you are above or below target across scoring, putting, short game, approach, and tee shots.

Sync and data

  • Settings sync through iCloud key-value storage when available.
  • Courses and rounds sync through private CloudKit records when iCloud is available.
  • Performance summaries are calculated from your stored rounds and can be recalculated as the app evolves.

FAQ

Common questions about setup, submitted rounds, ratings, and sync.

Why is the playing handicap different from my handicap?

Playing handicap is calculated from your personal handicap, tee rating, slope, par, and the app’s current round setup rules. It can differ from your handicap because each tee has its own difficulty.

Why do tees have Men’s and Ladies’ ratings?

Many courses publish separate CR and slope values by rating category. Your Settings choice controls which rating category is used when the app calculates course and playing handicap.

Can I edit a submitted round?

You can adjust selected round metadata and scorecard values, but submitted rounds keep the entry mode chosen when the round was started.

What is a benchmark course?

A benchmark course is a course you expect to use for repeatable performance tracking. Add the course, tees, ratings, and stroke indexes before using it for round setup.

Where do my courses and rounds sync?

Courses and rounds use private CloudKit records when iCloud is enabled. Settings use iCloud key-value storage. If iCloud is unavailable, the app still stores data locally on the device.

Why are some features marked as planned or Premium?

The free app focuses on courses, rounds, scorecards, reports, and performance summaries. GPS, scan/OCR, and custom target tools are planned for later versions or Premium.

How should testers report issues?

Use Support and report issues in Settings, or use TestFlight feedback with a screenshot. Include the course, tee, round state, and what you expected to happen.
