Why is the playing handicap different from my handicap?
Playing handicap is calculated from your personal handicap, tee rating, slope, par, and the app’s current round setup rules. It can differ from your handicap because each tee has its own difficulty.
Why do tees have Men’s and Ladies’ ratings?
Many courses publish separate CR and slope values by rating category. Your Settings choice controls which rating category is used when the app calculates course and playing handicap.
Can I edit a submitted round?
You can adjust selected round metadata and scorecard values, but submitted rounds keep the entry mode chosen when the round was started.
What is a benchmark course?
A benchmark course is a course you expect to use for repeatable performance tracking. Add the course, tees, ratings, and stroke indexes before using it for round setup.
Where do my courses and rounds sync?
Courses and rounds use private CloudKit records when iCloud is enabled. Confirmed stroke and pin positions are part of the round and can sync with it. Settings use iCloud key-value storage. Raw Round Trail points do not sync. If iCloud is unavailable, the app still stores data locally on the device.
Why are some features marked as planned or Premium?
The free app focuses on courses, rounds, scorecards, reports, and performance summaries. GPS shot positions, Round Trail, manual map placement, and Club Distances are part of the upcoming Premium feature set. Scan/OCR and advanced automated course lookup remain future directions.
How do At Tee, At My Ball, and At Pin work?
At Tee saves the start position on an empty hole. At My Ball saves the ball position before the next stroke so the app can calculate the previous stroke’s distance. At Pin saves the finishing position and can be used to calculate the final stroke’s distance. Each position is confirmed by you.
What is Round Trail?
Round Trail is an optional, temporary location trail that you actively start to help with manual stroke placement. It does not create or confirm ball positions automatically and stops no later than five hours after it starts.
Where is Round Trail stored?
Raw Round Trail points are stored only on your device. They are not included in iCloud sync and are deleted automatically after seven days.
How are Club Distances calculated?
A Club Distance is the direct distance between two consecutive confirmed positions. At My Ball normally completes the distance for the previous stroke, while At Pin can complete the final stroke on the hole. Club Distances can appear in round and performance reports.
Why is a Club Distance missing?
A distance needs consecutive confirmed positions. Relief, a drop zone, a replayed stroke, a lost ball, out of bounds, or an unplayable ball interrupts the distance chain. A ball played as it lies in a penalty area can continue the chain and does not automatically add a penalty stroke.
Is Club Distance carry distance?
No. Club Distance is the direct played distance between two registered positions. It does not distinguish carry from roll and is not an official measurement.
Can GPS positions be inaccurate?
Yes. GPS accuracy varies with the device, surroundings, signal conditions, and the position selected on the map. Positions and calculated distances are approximate guidance, not exact measurements or navigation information.
Which GPS data can sync through iCloud?
Confirmed stroke and pin positions are saved as part of a round and can sync through your private iCloud data. Raw Round Trail points stay only on the device and never sync through iCloud.
Can I use manual map placement?
Yes. You can place a position manually on the map when needed. A manually selected position is approximate and should be reviewed before you confirm it.
Are GPS shot positions and Club Distances Premium features?
Yes. GPS shot positions, At Tee, At My Ball, At Pin, Round Trail, manual map placement, Club Distances, and their report output are included in the upcoming Premium feature set.
What do scorecard consistency warnings mean?
They are advisory checks that highlight scorecard values you may want to review. They do not block submission of a round.
What does a course import require?
Course import requires valid Course Rating and Slope data and a supported import format version. Review the imported tees and hole data before using the course for a round.
What does Scoring by Outcome show?
Scoring by Outcome is a descriptive view of gross scoring relative to par. It is not a Target HCP benchmark and does not establish that a tracked factor caused a scoring result.
How should testers report issues?
Use Support and report issues in Settings, or use TestFlight feedback with a screenshot. Include the course, tee, round state, and what you expected to happen.
